About Me

My Beginnings

For my 15tth birthday my Father gave me my first oil paints, inspired by a trip to the Smithsonian. Now, with children raised and semi-retired from teaching, I can devote the time to art I've always dreamed of.

My Background

My art education includes classes from Santa Barbara City College, UCSB, and the SB Museum of Art.  Layer those with a miriade of seminars, workshops, and online classes. I have been a member of the Placerville  and Folsom Art Associations entering in their many shows and competitions as well as being a member of a Placerville gallery for two years. I taught elementary school in Santa Barbara for 25 years, infusing art into the curriculum whenever possible. Still passionate about teaching, I bring art lessons to six classes in a local rural school.

My Inspiration

Travel, hiking, fishing and even hunting with my husband since we retired takes me to inspiring scenes from the Tetons to Maui,  Yosemite to the American River here in El Dorado County.

Prices range from $50 to $400.  Have a favorite holiday photo? Let Oranne turn it into an original oil!
